Vietnam coffee prices slightly decline on September 30

VINAGRI News - Vietnam's domestic coffee prices saw a slight decrease of 500 - 1,000 VND/kg on September 30th, settling at a range of 114,300 - 115,900 VND/kg.

International futures market

The Robusta coffee futures contract for November 2025 on the London (ICE Futures Europe) exchange closed slightly lower on September 29th, dropping by 0.36% (15 USD/ton) to 4,186 USD/ton. The January 2026 contract also fell by 0.19% (8 USD/ton), closing at 4,174 USD/ton.

When converted to Vietnamese Dong, the November 2025 Robusta futures price is approximately 110,600 VND/kg.

Domestic market comparison

In the Central Highlands, Vietnam's main growing region, coffee prices on September 30th similarly fell by 500 - 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the range to 114,300 - 115,900 VND/kg, equivalent to 4.33 - 4.39 USD/kg.

Notably, the average domestic Robusta price of 115,900 VND/kg (4.39 USD/kg) is currently higher than the November 2025 futures price on the London exchange by 5,300 VND/kg or 0.20 USD/kg (approximately 200 USD/ton).

Harvest and weather updates

Vietnam has officially entered the 2025-2026 coffee harvest season this week. Fortunately, a recent storm had minimal impact on the Central Highlands coffee growing areas.

Global coffee prices saw a decline at the start of the trading week, largely influenced by improved rainfall in Brazil, which is expected to boost crop conditions and coffee yields. According to Somar Meteorologia, Minas Gerais, Brazil's largest Arabica growing region, received 25.9 mm of rain in the week ending September 27th, which is 104% of the historical average. September is a critical flowering period for Brazilian coffee trees.

Price outlook

The forecast for Robusta coffee on the London exchange (ICE Futures Europe) for the close of the trading session on September 30th, 2025, suggests prices may continue to be relatively stable or slightly decrease. The November 2025 futures price is expected to fluctuate between 4,150 - 4,200 USD/ton.
