VINAGRI News - Coffee prices in Vietnam continued their upward trend on September 29, gaining an additional 1,000 VND per kilogram. The increase coincides with the official start of Vietnam’s 2025 - 2026 coffee harvest season this week.
In the Central Highlands, prices continued their upward momentum from last week, reaching between 115,300 - 116,600 VND/kg, as follows:
Lam Dong province (Di Linh, Lam Ha, Bao Loc, Duc Trong): 115,300 VND/kg (+1,000 VND)
Dak Lak province: Cu M’gar at 116,400 VND/kg; Ea H’leo and Buon Ho at 116,300 VND/kg (+1,000 VND)
Dak Nong province: 116,600 VND/kg; Gia Nghia and Dak R’lap at 116,500 VND/kg (+1,000 VND)
Gia Lai province: Chu Prong at 116,300 VND/kg; Pleiku and La Grai at 116,200 VND/kg (+1,000 VND)
Kon Tum province: 116,300 VND/kg (+1,000 VND)
With an average domestic price of 116,500 VND/kg, Vietnam’s robusta coffee is currently priced about 5,500 VND/kg (~208.25 USD/ton) higher than the November 2025 robusta futures on the London exchange, which closed last week at 4,201 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery on the New York exchange stood at 8,352 USD/ton.
Compared with the same period last year-right before the harvest- domestic coffee prices remain 6,000 - 7,000 VND/kg lower.
Over the past week, the coffee market witnessed high volatility, with wide fluctuations and unclear trends, leaving traders uncertain.
In addition, frequent rainfall across the Central Highlands, influenced by continuous storms, is slowing down harvest progress and may impact output for the upcoming season.
Global coffee exchanges, including London (Robusta) and New York (Arabica), will reopen for trading at around 4 p.m. (Vietnam time) today, September 29.
