On November 9, Labor Hero Ho Quang Cua, the creator of the ST25 rice variety, confirmed to Tuoi Tre Online that the announcement was made at the 17th Annual TRT World Rice Conference, organized by The Rice Trader (TRT). This marks another international triumph for Vietnam’s premium rice variety.
According to Mr. Cua, this year’s competition saw participation from several major rice-producing countries, including the host Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Australia, and the Philippines. During the event, Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise, the producer of “Ong Cua” ST25, presented its 30-year journey in researching and developing high-quality fragrant rice varieties and the global impact of its achievements.
The enterprise also highlighted how the success of ST rice varieties has helped improve farmers’ incomes, enhance Vietnam’s image as a producer of premium-quality rice, and open doors to demanding markets such as the United States, Japan, Europe, and Australia.
With multiple international recognitions, ST25 continues to reinforce Vietnam’s leadership position on the global rice map.
Notably, this is the third time ST25 has claimed the world’s top honor, following previous wins in 2019 and 2023.
