Vietnam’s domestic coffee prices recorded a sharp decline on the morning of December 13, falling by VND 1,700 - 1,800 per kg to a range of VND 98,700 - 99,600/kg, according to market sources.
On the futures market, London robusta prices continued to weaken. At the close of trading on Friday, December 12, the March 2026 robusta contract on the ICE London exchange fell sharply by 2.63%, or USD 108/mt, settling at USD 3,999/mt. Other contracts also posted strong losses, with the January 2026 contract down 2.00%, or USD 84/mt, to USD 4,122/mt.
Converted into Vietnamese dong, the March 2026 robusta contract is currently valued at approximately VND 105,200/kg, based on the prevailing exchange rate of USD 1 = VND 26,305.96.
In the Central Highlands region, domestic robusta prices on December 13 dropped to VND 98,700 - 99,600/kg, reflecting the broader downward trend in global markets.
At an average domestic price of VND 99,200/kg, Vietnam’s robusta coffee is now trading at a discount of around VND 6,000/kg compared with the March 2026 London futures price, equivalent to roughly USD 228/mt.
Meanwhile, ICE-monitored coffee inventories showed mixed movements. Arabica coffee stocks fell to a 1.75-year low of 398,645 bags on November 20, before rebounding to a one-month high of 426,523 bags as of last Friday. Robusta inventories monitored by ICE declined to an 11.5-month low of 4,012 lots on Wednesday.
